The idea

Good tea needs three things: leaves, water, time.

We left out everything else. No bag. No dripping strainer. No pouring into a second pot. You fill it, let it steep and slide the button.

How it works

One button separates tea and leaves.

  1. 01

    Fill

Put loose tea into the glass chamber. Pour hot water over it.

  2. 02

    Steep

The leaves have room to open up. You watch the colour develop.

  3. 03

    Slide the button

Slide the button on the handle down. The valve opens, the tea runs into the pot, the leaves stay on top. It stops steeping and does not turn bitter.

In detail

Every part has a job.

Four things set it apart from an ordinary teapot.

Tea leaves in the glass brewing chamber
01

Glass brewing chamber

Borosilicate glass. Heat-resistant and neutral in taste. This is where your tea steeps.

Stainless-steel valve
02

Stainless-steel valve

304 stainless steel. Opens at the push of a button and holds back the leaves.

Spout while pouring
03

A spout that does not drip

Shaped so the stream breaks off cleanly. Nothing runs down the glass.

Handle with button
04

A handle that stays cool

Sits steady in your hand. The button is right on the handle.

Every day

Five minutes that are yours.

The water steams. The leaves open, the colour deepens. Your phone can wait that long.

No big ritual. Just one moment a day when you do one thing properly and nothing else.

Why loose leaf

What is in a tea bag.

Many tea bags contain plastic. Loose-leaf tea needs no bag.

  • 11.6 bn

microplastic particles were counted by McGill University researchers from a single plastic tea bag steeped at brewing temperature.

Hernandez et al., Environmental Science & Technology, 2019

  • over 90 %

of the supermarket herbal teas tested came in bags containing plastic. Organic brands included.

Greenpeace market check, Austria, October 2024

For context: how many particles end up in the cup is disputed. The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment considers the Montreal figures too high. What microplastics do in the body is still being researched. We make no health claims here.

The honest maths

Worked out per cup.

Loose-leaf tea costs less than good tea bags. The teapot earns its price back.

15Cent

per cup of loose-leaf tea

60Cent

per cup with a pyramid bag

3 cups a day

That is around 490 € less per year.

Example calculation: loose-leaf tea approx. 15 cents per cup (around 2.5 g), quality pyramid bags approx. 60 cents per cup (approx. 40–67 cents depending on brand). Teapot price: 900 ml, €129,90.

«The price is steep, but it is truly worth it. The fact alone that it does not drip is so great. I use it every day.»

Questions

Good to know.

Anything else? Write to us at support@teamood.co.

Does the teapot drip when pouring?

No. The spout is shaped so the stream breaks off cleanly. Nothing runs down the glass.

Isn't loose-leaf tea a hassle day to day?

Not with this teapot. Tea in, water on, let it steep, slide the button. The ritual guide (PDF) comes with every order and shows you steeping time and amount for every tea.

Why does it cost more than an ordinary teapot?

It is built differently: borosilicate glass, a 304 stainless-steel valve and a push-button brew stop instead of a simple strainer. On top of that you get a 100-day trial, breakage cover and a 2-year warranty. And per cup, loose-leaf tea costs less than good tea bags.

Which size is right for me?

500 ml is enough for one to two cups. 900 ml for three to four: for two people, or when guests come over.

Which tea is it made for?

For loose leaf and herbal tea. The stainless-steel filter holds back the leaves and rinses clean in seconds.

What are the handle and lid made of?

Wood-look plastic. The handle stays cool while pouring. Your tea steeps in glass and runs through a stainless-steel valve.

How do I clean it?

Lift out the brewing chamber, remove the leaves, rinse. All parts are dishwasher-safe.

Are spare parts available?

Yes. Brewing chamber, lid and seal are available individually. Write to us at support@teamood.coand we will send you the right part.

How do shipping and returns work?

Free shipping to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In stock, ships the next working day. You have 100 days: if you do not love it, you get your money back.
